There are pages full of reasons whey you should visit or even consider a condo purchase in Oceanside, California; and yes it's another of those wonderful "beach cities." Except this city of around 200,000 is the home of the Marine Corp Base Camp Pendleton, the largest United States Marine Corps amphibious training base anywhere. The camp’s motto is “Preserving California’s Precious Resources”, and it is home to many historical landmarks and endangered species. That said if you were to ask recent travelers to Oceanside what they enjoyed most, here are a few choice selections:
The Pier at Oceanside would rank #1 where they hold annual surfing contests and you can even write your name on the wood-framing it you wish. Speaking of surfing be sure to put the California Surf Museum on your "to do" list. Also on that list insert the Mission San Luis Rey. It has been beautifully maintained and for centuries this historical beauty was the largest building in California. If you've longed to see "up close" a closed Nuclear Plant facility, San Onofre State Beach has one you can view from Interstate 5.
Whether its food, lodging, or the beach, Oceanside has it.
