Coronado, California is located about five miles away from San Diego. It is often referred to as Coronado Island, even though it is a peninsula that is connected to San Diego by a thin strip of land. Coronado is home to around 25,000 people, and the median household income is around $91,000. Coronado is known for the Hotel del Coronado, which was built in 1888. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark, and it has been featured in a few movies. There are also two more resort hotels in the area as well as two theaters.

The main street in Coronado is lined with galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and the Coronado Historical Museum. There are also many restaurants that have amazing views of San Diego. Coronado was voted as the number one beach in the United States in 2012 because of its gentle surf and beautiful beaches. Coronado has its own school district with a high school, a middle school, and two elementary schools. There is also the Sacred Heart Parish School and the Christ Church Day School, which are private schools.
